Bollox to St George says Tory MP: Lets have a Polish day

The Polish community in the UK should be celebrated with a new bank holiday, a Tory MP says.

Britain's schoolchildren lining up to wave red-and-white flags. Diners forsaking fish and chips for dumplings and beetroot. Vodka flowing freely from Peterhead to Penzance...

A British bank holiday dedicated to the country's Polish community may be difficult to envisage, but Conservative MP Daniel Kawczynski - whose family emigrated from Poland - wants to make it a reality.

He has introduced a bill in the House of Commons calling for workers to be given one day off a year to celebrate the contribution of Poles to the UK, from the Battle of Britain pilots of World War II to the itinerant workforce of today. Oh, and lets not forget dragging us into the second world war. Nice one....

Kawczynski argues the holiday is necessary to counter "an increase in violence towards Poles".

Talking of violence Mr Kawczynski, in case you have forgotten and for all those who wish to become more familiar with the massacres of Germans in Poland try these links just for starters:

Death in Poland:

Polish Atrocities Against the German Minority in Poland:
http://www.jrbooksonline.com/polish_atrocities.htm

To this day no Polish official of any sort has admitted or acknowledged the bestial treatment and murder of Germans at the hands of Poles during the Bloody Sunday massacres of German civilians at Bromberg for example, or the huge numbers of Germans held in concentration camps in Poland prior to 1939. My guess is that we'll never hear so much as a peep from the Poles on its abuses, expulsions, and murder of Germans in the former German territories which were ceded to Poland under the Versailles treaty, which prompted the 1939 invasion by the Wehrmacht, triggering WWII.

Just like you will never hear of the fact that as Germany entered Poland on one side, the Russians were entering Poland on the other, thereby invading Western Europe.

Yes Mr Kawczynski. What a massive contribution Poles have made to Britain and to European peace and economic stability in general.

Na zdrowie !!.

Sir,

According to this link about last year's statistics, "foreigners commit 20 per cent of crime in London, say police".

Not only that, but "The highest number of offences were carried out by Poles, charged with 2,310 crimes between the start of January and the end of June".

I wonder if Mr Kawczynski thinks we should be celebrating this?

Logically, if there were no Poles here then there would have been 2,310 fewer crimes during the period mentioned.

You make some very good points watling and I concur whole heartedly. I have been accused of being anti Polish but that is not so. I have long standing friends of Polish extraction going back as far as childhood and some of my new neighbours are decent people and deserve a fair crack.

But I believe that the truth should be told no matter how unpalatable it is, particularly in view of the one sided hypocrisy of men like Kawczynski. Lest we forget.......
